    Default Neverending stall!!!!

Just need to vent and maybe get some ideas. I have been back and forth with this 3-5 lbs up and down for almost 2 months. It may sound stupid but I am starting to wonder if I have reached my plateau. Its crazy but I am gonna say it: IS MY SLEEVE STILL WORKING???? I am guilty of not drinking enough fluids and my vitamin intake. I have been on track for the past two weeks faithfully taking my vitamins and fluids. Protein is no problem, I am getting more than enough. I work out with weights but wonder if I should just do cardio to continue my loss. I am confused I used the weights to decrease the sag skin, I lost a lot and dont have much sag skin except my stomach. My breast and but have gone with the weight so I will have some reconstructive surgery later. Please advise. I am taking Centrum Multivitamin(chewable), 1000 mcg of Biotin (just started a week ago bc of hair loss), 1000 mcg of B12, and 65 mg of Iron 9 (equilavalent to 325 mg of Ferrous Sulfate). I take the iron because one of my side affects for the not taking vitamins sooner is the coldness. I get cold fast! My hands and feet go numb. I am looking forward to everyones responses.

~ doesn't think she'll ever reach her original weight, no matter HOW hard she tries. Hell, let's face it, 8lb 10oz is not very realistic is it?

I am 8 lbs away from my goal and I have been fluctuating the same 5 lbs for about 2 months as well... I am ecstatic about my weight loss and will be happy if I don't lose another lb.. BUT.... there is something about hitting that goal and possibly going under 200 lbs!! I am 5'10 and carry my weight well but these last few lbs are the hardest!!!!

I feel your pain. I've been fighting the same five pounds for a month. I'm only 3 months out and I'm already struggling to lose, which sucks. I know that people stall and all that. But, when it happens to yourself, it's the worst.

Maybe you need to up your calorie intake? I hear that sometimes works.

Sorry to hear that there are so many of you struggling right now I have a few suggestions (although I'm sure you've seen them before) : First is food tracking. Don't change a single thing about the way you are eating and just see where all your numbers are at. That way, you can see where it is that you might need to make some cuts or boost things up. My BEST advice is to SHAKE THINGS UP! I was always successful at kicking out of a stall by 1-2 days of upped calories and carb loading. It also seemed to help to take a few days off from exercise, but this was because I do very vigorous exercise and I was told that the body will hold on to things until the muscles have a chance to "heal". I look like the poster-child for VSG, but I honestly have reached my goal by doing things my own way. My surgeon would probably die if he saw some of the things I eat But my calories are under control and I exercise regularly. I just don't worry about carbs the way they expect us to. I don't want to be on a diet for the rest of my life. I will eat healthy and have unhealthy things here and there, because it's nowhere near the way I ate before... Eating unhealthy things with something healthy here and there. I think I have found a balance that works for me. You just have to find yours.
Another option is the 5 Day Pouch Test Surgical Weight Loss 5 Day Pouch Test It can be helpful to get back to basics if you think your eating habits are in a downward spiral.
And of course... Exercise, exercise, EXERCISE!!!! This has been my not-so-secret to success. It pays off in more ways than one. Oh, and make sure you're hydrating. Good luck girls

Eat completely different from normal. For me it meant sugar and cream in my coffee instead of just skim milk, a bagel for breakfast instead of a protein smoothie, sandwiches with full fat mayo for lunch instead of protein+salad, fruit snacks instead of protein/veg snacks in the afternoon, and grains with dinner.

Did this for a week and it jumpstarted me again after 3 months of gaining/losing the same few pounds over and over. Was still very healthy in the choices I made (except the refined sugar in the coffee), I stuck with whole grains and fresh fruits... but all those carbs I guess were what my body needed to wake up.

Good advice. thanks everyone. i for one have learnt a thing or two. I totally agree with whats been said, and perharps another would be listening to your body....lately i have also kida upped my carb intake and the weight loss has been jump started again. A few weeks ago my calory intake was so low, my body actually began to swell and i was informed that i had a protein and calcium deficiency... Yes, I feel guilty when biting into a slice of bread with jam...but i try to keep it within moderation. I still need to up my liquid intake thou. For some reason water feels bulky and sometimes it gives me gas!...i dont like it as much now as i used to before the sleeve. Hope sharing this will help you in some way...all the best!

I am on the same train with you all. I have been stuck between 201 and 204 for over a month. Ive tried both upping and lowering the carbs. It is just not working now. I am so frustrated. My husband who had the sleeve in April just cant stop losing. I hate him! lol. It does get frustrating when I am so careful about what I eat-he does too-and the weight just fell off of him! He got on the scale yesterday and weighs 169! Really, I am so happy for him and he looks great-I just wish it were as easy for me. lol. Selfish, I know. . I guess we just hang in there. I just went back to school so I know I am sitting a lot more. I try to walk faster across campus, but I havent been getting on the treadmill like I need to. It is a lot harder in the cold weather. I just want to hibernate when I get home. Anyway, just wanted to share that I feel your pain. Take care!

My weight has never fluctuated more than a pound, and I do keep a food journal. Although I keep a food journal I do not count calories. On days I do high intense cardio or on days I work out twice I load up on carbs. I need carbs for energy and mental functioning.

I will say if I saw my weight go up 5-10 pounds (which I have read about in this forum) I would be really be concerned.

I workout 7 days/week and sometimes twice a day. Because this sort of regimen works for my sleeve. Will I work out at this intensity forever? No, because there will come a time I will want to maintain and no longer lose. But until that time I am giving 100%!

I take one Flintstones vitamin and one biotin pill a day (I started biotin 7 months pre-op, and have experienced little to no hair loss thus far).

I truly think our sleeves, like us, are unique and therefore no two journeys are alike.

    Best wishes for continued successes!

We had our surgeries near the same time and started with similar weight. It is good to hear that I am not alone with what I am going through and how I am feeling. I changed my goal weight from 140lbs to 150lbs. I wouldnt change anything about my decision. Keep up the good work and look at it like soon you will be where your husband is. I just come from walking on the treadmill at work for my 15 break. I am going to ease up on the weights and do more cardio to see if that changes anything.

Try adding something to the water. (ie. raspberries, strawberry slices, cucumber, lemon, mint leaves, whatever you prefer) This helped me a lot. The flavored waters in the store were too sweet and regular water was too plain. This was perfect for me
